HFH Kenya partnership with International School of Kenya (ISK), has continued to blossom over time. Since the beginning of the year, the school has actively participated in HFH Kenya local builds to help families in both rural areas and at Maai Mahiu build IDP camp build durable houses.
Through HFH Kenya campus chapter, the students have not relented in taking time off from their busy schedules to help families begin the journey to decent shelter.
During the months of January and April this year, ISK School students have joined the internally displaced families in Maai Mahiu IDP Housing Project to help them construct durable houses. Away from the builds, the students have had the opportunity of interacting and even learning the local cultures of the host communities.
“I feel privileged to have these students here. They are like my children and there is no greater joy to have your child do something noble to in your life. They have given me shelter and I am grateful, said Lilian Nduta.
As part of supporting HFH Kenya work, the institution also made a donation of over USD 3, 000, funds that were raised through a student Gala Night dinner held in last year in December.
HFH Kenya is grateful to the management, staff and students of ISK for their selfless support towards the Habitat mission.
